New Year, New Beginnings!
Exercising My Mind, Body, and Soul!
Estimated reading time: 1 minute, 19 secondsEver since I turned seventy-six, I had planned to start exercising with a trainer. However, I postponed my plans for reasons that now seem trivial. First, I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, which was an unexpected setback. Then, I encountered an unidentified virus that caused my airway to become hyperactive, further delaying my plans. Once I administered the medications prescribed by Dr. Presti daily, my airway cleared, and I had no physical reason to postpone any longer. Still, I decided to wait until I fasted and atoned for my sins during Yom Kippur before beginning my training.
Today was my first day working with Lance, an experienced trainer and friend at Fit Cranford. After my morning walk, he guided me through thirty minutes of stretches that are helping my body feel rejuvenated, giving me hope that I can and will become healthier and stronger. I will meet with Lance weekly and provide him with updates as needed.
Fit Cranford is on the ground floor of my apartment building, where I used to have my office. Thanks to my health insurance, my annual gym membership costs only twenty-five cents—just a few nickels a year or about two cents a month. It’s not a bad deal.
While I’m not dreaming of becoming a bodybuilder, I’m genuinely excited about the journey ahead with Lance! Together, day by day, we’ll pursue happiness and well-being as I nurture my mind, body, and soul in 5786. I’m ready to embrace this positive transformation with enthusiasm!
