Gap of $224 With Five Days to Go!

It’s hard to believe that nearly four years have passed since my wife lost her battle with lymphoma. This year, I am taking a significant step to honor her memory by participating in the third year of the Big Climb in New Jersey. On April 26th, I will climb twenty-six floors at the Gateway Center in Newark to raise funds for cancer research.

I’m proud to say that I’ve surpassed every goal I’ve set so far, and I’m just $224 away from reaching an incredible total of $7,000! Once we reach $6,500, I’ll donate an additional $500 to match the amount I haven’t yet contributed.

Today, I started reading Help Wanted: A Novel by Adelle Waldman. The best-selling author of The Love Affairs of Nathaniel writes a funny and eye-opening tale of work in contemporary America. The story revolves around the members of Team Movement, who work at the big-box store Town Square in a small upstate New York town.

They come in for their shift at 3:55 a.m. every day, and under the supervision of a self-absorbed and barely competent boss, they empty the day’s merchandise truck, stock the shelves, and leave before the store opens for customers.

She is also the recipient of the Kennedy Center International Committee on the Arts Gold Medal. She lives in Paris.

Meanwhile, Kevin, Amber’s boyfriend of fourteen years, is left behind as Amber pursues her dream.
