Cranford Radio Interview for the MLK Award

Healing the World, One Day at a Time!

Last week, I had the fantastic opportunity to catch up with my friend Bernie Wagenblast for an engaging interview on Cranford Radio. We chatted about a truly special moment in my life—the honor of being named the 2025 Martin Luther King Award recipient by the Cranford Clergy Council and the Interfaith Human Relations Committee. I can hardly contain my excitement for the award ceremony, which is set to take place on January 16th at 7 p.m. at the beautiful Calvary Tabernacle, located at 69 Myrtle St, Cranford, NJ.

I’m so grateful for this acknowledgment and look forward to celebrating this meaningful event with our wonderful community!

As a member of Temple Sha’arey Shalom, I am delighted that my Rabbi, Uri Allen, will participate in the event.

As Bernie mentioned, “For most of his adult life, Richard Brown has been passionate about repairing the world. His primary focus has been on addressing homelessness. In honor of his efforts, the Cranford Clergy Council and the Cranford Interfaith Human Relations Committee have chosen to present Richard with this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Award. Bel Canto differs from Tom Lake by Ann Patchett, which I read nearly a year ago. Tom Lake is a novel that beautifully explores family, love, and coming of age. Patchett once again proves herself as one of America’s finest writers in both books.
